Be a part of team HOPEHIV
We are looking for five runners to join team HOPEHIV for the race on 20th April 2014 to help us raise £10,000 for our work in Africa. Team HOPEHIV will be running for Africa’s orphan generation, bringing them a step closer to the opportunities that will help them change the future for themselves, their families and their communities.
Apply now for a 2014 place
As a small charity we only have a few places available. We therefore encourage everyone who would like to run for HOPEHIV to apply for the public ballot in the first instance and then one of our Gold Bond places to maximise your chance of participating in the race.
The Virgin London Marathon Public Ballot has now closed.
Complete an application form for a HOPEHIV Gold Bond place here.
Because our Gold Bond guaranteed entry places are limited, applications will be subject to a selection process. We ask that all runners pledge to raise a minimum of £2,000 (excluding Gift Aid) for HOPEHIV, and to pay a non- refundable registration fee of £100. If your application is not immediately successful, we will place you on our reserve list. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 30th October 2013.
If you have any questions about the application process please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

2012 MARATHON SUCCESS
We had eight amazing runners in Team HOPEHIV 2012, including two from the 12in12. In spite of injuries and illness, they all managed to finish, with times ranging from a speedy 3 hours 23 minutes to 6 hours 14 minutes (our last runner passed out for two hours at mile 18 and then got up to complete the race!) They raised an incredible £21,733 for our work. You can read more about the day on our blog, and see a few of our runners in action and recovering post-race in this short clip.
We are always so thankful when people choose to use who they are to make a difference. We will do our very best to help ensure your marathon experience is a memorable one. Anyone running the Virgin London Marathon for HOPEHIV will receive:
- A welcome pack filled with fundraising tips, information about HOPEHIV and our project partners
- A HOPEHIV T-Shirt
- Links to helpful training and nutrition advice
- Regular e-news
- Cheering on and support from HOPEHIV staff on race day
- The knowledge that they are helping to create hope and genuine opportunities for some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.
